Jerry Wilburn, 83, of Dexter died Thursday, September 3, 2026, at his home surrounded by loving family.

He was born January 13, 1943, to Truman and Lydia Reese Wilburn in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was one of sixteen children. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Darrell Wilburn, Penny Allen, Johnny Wilburn, Russell Wilburn, Glen Wilburn, Lavergne Wilson, and Ginger Garcia.

On August 21, 1960, he was married to Pansy Elizabeth Meador who survives the home. Together the couple raised five children: Keith (Lora) Wilburn of Bloomfield, MO Michael (Angela) Wilburn of Dexter, MO Patrick (Kelly) Wilburn of Bloomfield, MO Letitia (Harrel) Rice of Poplar Bluff, MO and Darla Tinsley of Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was a loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Robin (Zac) McIntyre, Jeremy (Lindsay) Allbritton, Tyler McBride, Jera (Bart) Tuetkin, Casey (Derrick) Vickery, Tracy Allbritton, Jamie (Patrick) Garrison, Seth McBride, Dylan Wilburn, Noah Wilson, and Abigail Tinsley and eighteen great-grandchildren: Sophie and Redic (Robin) Lillie, Gavin, Owen, and Henry (Jeremy) Garrett, Olivia, Griffin, and Landry (Jera) Lexi, Wyatt, Dawson, and Alice (Casey) Liam (Tracy) Josie and Tucker (Jamie) Maezy (Seth).

He is also survived by his sister Faye Wilburn of Oran, MO and brothers Harry Wilburn of Naylor, MO, Mickey Wilburn of New Orleans, LA, Rex Wilburn of Naylor, MO, Kenneth Wilburn of Pikeville, TN, Dickie Wilburn of Pikeville, TN, and Ronnie Wilburn of Bernie, MO.

Jerry worked hard for years as an over-the-road truck driver to provide for his family, later taking employment with a local farmer until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending his time with his family.

Funeral services will be held at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, MO on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Mike Lee of Mount Zion Walker Church in Bloomfield, MO will officiate. Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy, MO.
