Dawon Raygene Wilson, 78, of Advance, Missouri, passed away on September 12, 2025.
Born with a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family, Raygene dedicated his life to being a hardworking father, provider, and friend. He worked for 30 years at General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan, where he was known for his dedication and reliability. Outside of his career, Raygene was a proud United States Army veteran and enjoyed the simple pleasures of lifehunting, horses, and baseball, passions that brought him joy throughout his years.
Raygene is survived by his children: sons Ryan and James, and daughters Jenny and Lisa. He was a proud grandfather to Jared, Kristen, Wynter, Jaydin, Haleigh, Colton, Olivia, and Merritt. He is also survived by his brothers George and Ronnie, his sister Faye, his niece Amber, and great-nephews Briar and Axel. Raygene will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, beginning at 12:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Raygene will be laid to rest alongside his previously deceased family members at Dry Bayou Cemetery in Hayti, Missouri.
His life was a testament to service, hard work, and a lasting devotion to family.
