Virginia Jenny Jenkins, 102, met the Lord face to face Thursday, December 29, 2022, after a brief illness, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Jenny was born near Cobden, IL on May 24, 1920, the daughter of Gabe and Georgia Rendleman. She was the last of the Rendleman children. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcia Kinder and Joann Johnson and four brothers, Tom, Junior, Charles, and Bud Rendleman.
Jenny and Joe Jenkins were united in marriage, he preceded her in death on March 9, 1999. Born to this union was three children, Jorita Black of Denver, CO, Clyde Jenkins of Bell City and LuAnn Abner of Advance.
She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Jenny and her husband, Joe, farmed all their adult lives. Upon retirement they moved into a new home in Advance. Jenny was a very supportive and active homemaker and an exceptional cook. She loved auctions, flea markets, and gardening, especially growing flowers of all kinds.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Bell City United Methodist Church in Bell City, MO. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. George Rendleman officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City, MO.
