Sharon Ann Lorch, 79, of Advance, passed away in the late evening hours of Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born February 2nd, 1946, in Toga, Missouri, the daughter of Manning Edwin and Mildred Inas (Rhodes) Whittaker. Sharon was united in marriage to Dennis Joseph Lorch on February 12th, 1966, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Advance, MO.
She was a 1964 graduate of Advance High School. After graduation, Sharon worked at Inland Shoe, Bank of Advance, then with her husband in their Farmers Insurance business for some 20 years.
Sharon was a well-traveled spouse, having flown in their own airplane to most U.S. States, the Bahamas, Canada, and Mexico. She also visited Alaska and all the Hawaiian Islands multiple times. She toured more than 50 National Parks and visited foreign countries, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. She spent 18 winters in Okeechobee, FL, where she enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends.
Loving survivors include her husband, Dennis Lorch, of the home. Her daughter, Janine (Thad) Ballin of Advance, MO. Grandchildren, Leah Ballin of Jonesboro, AR, and Luke Ballin of Advance, MO. Siblings, Bill (Kay) Whittaker of Union, MO, Verrell (Ronnie) Marchbanks of Robbinsville, NC, and Mitzie (Danny) Seger of Advance, MO. Special friend and traveling companion, Ina Redman of Advance, MO, and her very special furry friend, Jingles, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Manning and Inas Whittaker, her sister, Judy Whittaker, and her infant brother, Manning E. Whittaker.
Pallbearers include Danny Seger, Harold Bowman, Thad Ballin, Luke Ballin, David Lorch, and Ron Marchbanks.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 18th, 2026, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, MO, from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm, with services immediately following visitation. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery following the service.
