On Wednesday December 28, 2022, Richard Rick William Simmers, loving father, brother, and friend passed away. Rick was born September 8th, 1953, in Advance Missouri. He was 69 years old and resided in Advance Missouri until his death on Wednesday December 28, 2022. He was the son of Fern and Raymond Simmers.
Rick loved the game of basketball. You always found him either at old mans gym or outside playing ball. He even played basketball at work on breaks. He also really loved his family and friends, never meeting a stranger and had an infectious smile that brightened any room.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fern and Raymond Simmers, 2 sisters Lois Leadbetter, Louise Kidd, 2 brothers Robert Simmers, Elvis Simmers, and 1 grandson Devin Bond.
He is survived by one sister Debbie (Keith) Smith, 4 children Felicia Simmers, Richard Simmers, Heather (Steve) Bond, Cindy (Caleb) Bohnsack, 9 grandchildren Cassi Cochran, Airyan Cochran, Ashley Baysinger, Alyssa Montegue, Dylan Simmers, Dominic Simmers, Dylan Bond, Aydon Bohnsack, Abel Bohnsack, 1 great granddaughter Josie Montague, and many other family and friends.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Old Gym in Advance Missouri on December 31st, 2022, at 2pm with a basketball game to follow in his honor
