With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rose Zella Pixley on July 17th, 2026 at her home in Advance, Missouri at the age of 82.
She was born July 2nd, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. A daughter of the late Ira Leonard Martin and Mary Elizabeth (Mason) Martin.
Rosie, as she was lovingly known by so many, was the heart and pillar of her family. A woman of remarkable strength, unwavering love, and endless devotion. She raised seventeen out of the eighteen children she brought into this world. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and loved ones, creating memories they will carry with them forever. Whether she was working on puzzles or simply enjoying the laughter and togetherness of family, Rosie found happiness in lifes simple blessings. Her legacy of strength, love, and selfless sacrifice will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by four brothers, Mark Martin, George Martin, Frank Martin, and Earnest Martin. Four children, Paula LaRay Pixley, Dale Ray Pixley II, Robert Andrew Andy Pixley, and Adam Walker Pixley. One great-grandchild, Gideon Barak Matthews.
Rose is survived by fourteen children. Four sons, Garett (Shannon) Pixley of Dexter, Missouri, Tony (Melissa) Pixley of Adrian, Missouri, Aaron (Amy) Pixley of Dexter, Missouri, and Arlen (Melissa) Pixley of New Madrid, Missouri. Ten daughters, Mary Pixley of Dexter, Missouri, Dana (Bodie) Fullbright of Marble Hill, Missouri, Tina (Brian) Coggins of Advance, Missouri, Lana Pixley of Advance, Missouri, Lela (Greg) Dunn of Vienna, Illinois, Anna (Jason) Abernathy of Advance, Missouri, Sara (Chris) McCain of Advance, Missouri, Victoria (Kelly) Limbaugh of Advance, Missouri, Carrie (Jesse) McCallister of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Audra Sumner of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In her own words, too many grandchildren to count, along with many other family and friends that will greatly miss her.
Services will be Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to 18 Fore Life. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at The Meadows Event Venue in Dexter, Missouri following services starting at 5 p.m.
