Barbara Winchester, 78, of Marble Hill passed away February 11, 2026, at her home. She was born August 15, 1947, in St. Genevieve, the daughter of Joesph Griffard and Erma McClure.
Barbara had been a factory worker for most of her life. She was a member of the Dongola Friendship Baptist Church.
She had a deep passion for sewing and taking care of birds. She found great joy and pride in growing beautiful flowers and working on her family farm. She was a true lover of nature. She was a very, very selfless person. Always taking care of others needs before herself.
Mama and Dad loved watching western movies together. She continued to watch them after Dad passed away. She also enjoyed watching The Price is Right. Often, she would watch the show with her daughter, if they could not be together, they would talk on the phone while watching.
Barbara and Donald Howard Winchester were united in marriage on September 7, 1968, and he preceded her in death on June 13, 2024.
Survivors include: a son, Norman Joseph Winchester of Zalma, a daughter, Carrie Dawn Winchester of Chaffee, a brother, Kenneth Griffard of St. Genvieve, three grandchildren, Brandon Paul Winchester, Austin Isaish Winchester and Felicity Dawn Winchester, and four great-grandchildren, Roxas Paul Winchester, Alby Leon Winchester, Arthur Don Winchester, and Holsom Winchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Dewayne Howard Winchester.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 11:00 am to12:00pm. A funeral service will follow starting at 12:00 pm at chapel with Rev. Ronnie McAtee. Burial will follow at Dongola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to family for funeral expenses.
