Shirley Mae Carlton, 89, of Zalma, passed away April 15, 2020 at her home. She was born October 23, 1930 at Greenbrier, MO, the daughter of Leo and Letha Ladd Whitehead.
Shirley and Clinton Carlton were united in marriage on September 21, 1946 at Advance. After 67 years of marriage he preceded her in death on November 24, 2013.
She leaves behind, a daughter, Sharon Faye(Larry) Carlton of Kalamazoo, MI two sons, Roger Lynn (Debbie) Carlton of Zalma and Stephen (Sue) Carlton of Zalma daughter-in-law, Judy Carlton of Gordonville nine grandchildren, Christy Brugger, Angie Carlton, Clint Carlton, Laura Yoder, Robyn Thatcher, Michelle Brown, Lynn Carlton, Douglas Carlton and Ashley Carter a host of great-grandchildren three sisters, Janice Snider of Marble Hill, Mary Lee Fisher of Marble Hill and Donna Hellirigs of Panama City, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a son, Leslie Dee Carlton three brothers, Bill Whitehead, Garry Whitehead and Ronald Whitehead a sister, Jean Fortner and her parents-in-law.
A private family burial will be held at Balch Cemetery near Zalma. Rev. Brian Gill will officiate.
